Warning: Free Dental Implant Scams

If you've recently seen an online ad offering "Free Dental Implants," "Dental Implant Grants," or payments for implant treatment — and it seemed to point to our office — please know that we are not affiliated with any of these advertisements, and we never have been.

These ads are part of a growing wave of scams run by unaffiliated third-party marketers and lead generation companies, not licensed dental professionals. We are appalled by this behavior and want our patients to have the facts.

How These Scams Work

These campaigns typically follow a predictable pattern. You see an ad on Facebook, Instagram, or Google promising free implants or a dental implant grant. Clicking it takes you to a generic landing page with no practice name listed, asking for your personal details. Once you submit your information, it is often sold or shared with unknown parties who will call and text you repeatedly. If you do attend a consultation through one of these leads, you are likely to be told you don't qualify for the free offer — and then pitched the full procedure at standard or inflated cost.

In some cases, scammers use the names of real, trusted dental practices — including ours — to give their ads false credibility. This is done entirely without our knowledge or permission.

The Truth About "Dental Implant Grants"

Legitimate dental implant grants are virtually nonexistent. Dental implants are generally classified as a cosmetic procedure, which means they are not covered by federally funded grant programs. Any ad using the word "grant" in relation to implants should be treated as a red flag. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General has issued public alerts about scams involving fake healthcare grants.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • No specific practice name or address in the ad
  • Promises of free implants or grants with no eligibility criteria listed
  • A landing page that only asks for your name, phone number, and zip code
  • Guaranteed acceptance — real programs are always competitive
  • Requests for upfront fees to "access" a grant
  • Aggressive follow-up calls or texts from unknown numbers

What We Actually Offer

At Lifeway Dental of Boca, dental implants are a significant investment in your long-term oral health, and we treat them that way. We are always transparent about costs, and we are happy to walk you through your options — including any financing arrangements we offer — during a consultation. We will never use bait-and-switch tactics or pressure you into treatment.
